The Chicago Bears announced Monday the addition of a veteran in to their lineup as they signed seven-year NFL cornerback Tracy Porter to a one-year contract.

Porter has played for the New Orleans Saints (2008–2011), Denver Broncos (2012), Oakland Raiders (2013) and Washington Redskins (2014) in his past seven seasons in the league before signing with the Bears.

The 28-year-old has already worked with present Bears head coach John Fox while with the Broncos and current team general manager Ryan Pace in his stint with New Orleans.

The most memorable moment in Porter's NFL career is intercepting a Peyton Manning pass in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLIV returning it for a 74-yard touchdown for the Saints who eventually won 31-17.

In a compiled stats by ESPN, Porter started in 60 games in a total of 68 played and tallied 288 tackles, 10 interceptions, 52 pass breakups, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

"It's a blessing first and foremost to continue my NFL career. I just felt like it was the right situation, the right place for me," Porter said about joining the Bears according to ESPN.

"To have a familiarity with coach Fox and to know Ryan Pace and a lot of those guys in the front office and a couple of coaches on the staff and to be familiar with the playbook, that had a lot to [do with it]. It was just the right fit," he added.

Porter will be a part of a cornerback group for Chicago which includes 2014 first-round pick Kyle Fuller, two-time Pro Bowler Tim Jennings, 2010 fifth-round pick Sherrick McManis and the undrafted Al Louis-Jean Jr.

Along with Porter former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback lan Ball, who is a seven-year veteran as well, was also signed by the Bears last March but is yet to fully participate in offseason activities due to injury.
