Chicago Bulls star guard Derrick Rose holds no ill-feelings for not being among the top vote-getters as a starter for the 2016 National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star game, which will take place in Toronto next month.

Rose is aware that he hasn't really turned up consistent and good performances lately so not being among the top guards to play for the East All-Stars wasn't much of a disappointment for his part.

How about a reserve slot? Rose doesn't seem thrilled at the idea, knowing where he stands and the amount of work he has to do ahead to get him back to form.

Rose has struggled and missed a lot of games mainly due to injuries. He has been plagued by it for the last couple of years and right now, it is all about whipping himself back to shape.

Instead of himself, Rose is making a case for Jimmy Butler to be included on the reserve roster. Butler nearly made it as a starter but eventually finished fourth.

Considering the reported heat between the two, the push from Rose may come as a bit of a surprise, although it does douse water on what people are saying about the two.

As far as he is concerned, Rose plans to work out during All-Star Weekend with his trainer, Robert McClanaghan, and maybe a couple of his friends.

Unlike others who would take some time off after a rigid first half of the NBA season. He is aware that he has to maximize the spare time and use that to get back to form.

"I don't think about what people think or say," says Rose via ESPN. "It's whatever they say, but the only thing I can do is just keep working on my game and focus on what I've been focusing on."

Well, if not this year, maybe in the succeeding years. Right now, it is a time for healing for the one-time NBA Most Valuable Player.
