Chicago Bulls rumors 2015: Tom Thibodeau and Jimmy Butler could reunite soon

Jimmy Butler is expectedly in the headlines, a top name that multiple teams are targeting. While there is no word on whether he would be staying with the Bulls or jumping ship, the belief of many is that the Bulls will be keeping him at all cost.

Butler is reportedly interested in a short-term deal and a possible destination could be the Los Angeles Lakers. Of course there are complications tied up with that scenario and from all indications, the Bulls could easily match that.

But what if Butler would get the chance to play once more under former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau?

Butler flourished under Thibodeau last season until he was unceremoniously fired due to differences with Bulls management. However, it is believed that Thibodeau will not be staying jobless for soon as some team is bound to pick him up soon.

A rumor even suggests that the Cleveland Cavaliers could be hiring Thibodeau soon, taking over from David Blatt who didn't exactly leave an impressive first season. Again, this is just a rumor and considering the factors that Blatt had to deal with, it may be unfair for now to assess how successful Blatt can really be in the NBA.

Whether it be the Cavs or any other team who would be interested in Thibodeau, would he try to get Butler from the Bulls?

Apparently both have a good relationship and both were even spotted at the Gibson's Bar & Steakhouse recently having dinner.

Of course it could just be a simple dinner to catch up but once cannot help but think on whether Thibodeau may have been giving Butler some advice as far as moving forward is concerned.

And that could include recruiting Butler in case the former Bulls coach lands a new head coaching gig. Tinkering on the idea, imagine the scenario if Thibodeau does get the nod to coach the Cavs. Could Butler be joining forces with Lebron James?

If so, he could be taking over the slot of J.R. Smith (who opted out of his contract as expected). Now that thought would make the Cavs all the more formidable and dangerous (should it happen).
