Game 1 ended in a 4-2 victory for the Mets and Game 2 will see Jake Arrieta face off against Noah Syndergaard on the mound.

The Cubs were by far the better team during the regular season series between these two teams, winning 7-0, but the Playoffs are an entirely different matter, as the Mets have already proven with their Game 1 win.

The Mets' Michael Cuddyer said, "We're definitely a different team, there's no question about that. The lineup's different. We're in a different stage of the season. When we faced them, especially at Wrigley, we weren't playing very well. It's a different team, different confidence level, different atmosphere. But we've still got some work to do. This team's not going away."

But Chicago will be confident they can level up the series today and steal home field advantage for this best of seven series. Arrieta pitched 32 consecutive scoreless innings recently, and although that streak was ended in the Cubs' NLDS against the Cardinals the Cubs still have not lost a game where he has started since July 25.

Arrieta finished the regular season 22-6 with a 1.77 ERA, and is having the season of his life, although he is keeping his feet on the ground following receiving a little hit back from the Cardinals in the NLDS.

Arrieta said following his game against the Cardinals: "I'm human. The tempo and the rhythm wasn't great. Some of the command issues -- the two walks in the third inning -- were pretty uncharacteristic, but it happened. I was able to keep us in the game to beat a really good team."

Meanwhile, Anthony Rizzo expects Chicago to have a reaction tonight after losing Game 1: "You can't live and die on one game. That's the beauty of this series. We did live and die on one game [in the Wild Card Game] a few weeks ago, so now we get to breathe a little bit. We did lose our first game against St. Louis, and we bounced back. I expect no different this time."
