The seventh episode of "Chicago Fire's" fifth season promises developments for various story arcs in the series, something that fans have been expecting since the show is nearing its halfway mark.

In the last episode, Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund) was placed in a compromising predicament when she hit a pedestrian while on the way to respond to a call. As it turned out, the victim may have been trying to commit suicide and deliberately placed himself in harm's way after it was found out that it was not the first time that he had tried to take his life.

While the conclusion of the incident is yet to be decided, some good came of the episode when the romance between Sylvie (Kara Killmer) and Antonio (Jon Seda) gained some headway. The team was also able to close a fire case that turned out to be an arson case gone awry.

In the seventh episode — entitled "Lift Each Other" — Gabby's brother is expected to stick around for an episode that promises to revolve around family.

"Dawson and her brother Antonio host a family reunion when their parents come to Chicago for their anniversary; Boden (Eamonn Walker) takes matter into his own hands after a secret involving his stepson comes to light; Casey (Jesse Spencer) tries to save a young boy at a warehouse; and Otis (Yuriy Sardarov) and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) square off at a mud race," the synopsis read.

Episode 7 airs on Nov. 29 while the eighth episode — entitled One Hundred — is also the show's 100th episode and will tackle some obstacles in Casey and Dawson's adoption plans. It will also lay down an interesting proposal from Severide.

"Casey and Dawson face a hurdle in their quest to adopt Louie; Severide (Taylor Kinney) receives an interesting proposal from a firefighter-turned-medical student; and Otis convinces Herrmann to throw a bash in honor of Molly's 100th anniversary,"

"Chicago Fire" airs on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
