Lindsay (Sophia Bush) will do all that it takes to save Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) in the upcoming season of the NBC series "Chicago P.D."

Cartermatt reports that the former operative will make her way out of the depression that has been imprisoning her to save her former colleague and lover. Promo photos released by the network show the two reunited as she tries to save him from the kidnappers led by Derek Keyes (Bokeem Woodbine).

Viewers last saw Lindsay as she tendered her intention to resign from her post after undergoing a series of depressing events. As reported earlier, the first episodes of season 3 will dwell on her subsequent slump while spending time with her mother. All that will change, however, when she learns of Halstead's abduction.

Vine Report reveals that while the group will be pursuing one of Chicago's most wanted drug pushers in Keyes, Lindsay will be going on a solo mission to locate Halstead. In the sneak peek released by NBC, Halstead can be seen being abducted and tortured. The kidnappers then issue one of their orders — to send a lone female officer as the go-between.

Lindsay will reportedly volunteer for the job. The rest of the video shows action-packed scenes, where she can be seen bending over a trussed up Halstead, trying to free him. In one instance, Lindsay is looking at different directions, as if trying to figure out where to hide, while Halstead is beside her.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that Dan Mihok will guest star in the upcoming installment. He will reportedly play as a father whose daughter is missing. Desperate to save her, the actor's character will resort to taking someone in the police station as a hostage to push the authorities into helping him.

"Chicago P.D." will return on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
