The next episode of "Chicago PD" season 5 will give a glimpse into Officer Hailey Upton's (Tracy Spiridakos) past. In episode 6, titled "Fallen," Upton will have to face a man she has an old beef with.

According to the synopsis, the team will be in search of a drug dealer after a picture perfect family is killed in their home. Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) will enlist the help of Vice Sgt. Sean McGrady (guest star Wil Traval), who is apparently in a feud with Upton for something. But her hatred for the man ends when he turns up dead in the investigation and the case takes an unlikely turn.

This will be the first episode where the crime series will focus on Upton after Spiridakos was announced as a regular cast member in July, following the exit of Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush).

Upton first appeared in the last few episodes of the drama's fourth season, when the Intelligence Unit enlisted her help on a particularly difficult case. Initially, Voight did not approve of her impulsive way of solving the case, but he ended up offering her a spot on the team anyway.

Described as a robbery-homicide detective with killer instincts and humor, Upton earned her badge from a top-secret undercover assignment. Because of this, she continuously had to prove to doubtful fellow officers that she deserved her promotion.

Not much is known of Upton, and this upcoming episode will help viewers get to know the newest lady in District 21.

The "Fallen" episode was supposed to air last Wednesday, Nov. 1. But with the World Series in full swing — the action-packed Game 6 was shown on FOX and reportedly earned 18.9 million viewers, with a 5.2 rating in the 18 to 49 age range — NBC opted to delay the new episodes of "Chicago PD" as well as "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

"Chicago PD" will be back on the small screen on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 10 p.m. EST, on NBC.
