Chile would love nothing better than to send South American rivals, Argentina, away from Santiago with no trophy for a long journey back home. If they can pull off an upset today it would be a massive win for the nation, and would give them a great platform to continue ti improve over the coming years towards the 2018 World Cup.

Argentina though are coming fresh off a 6-1 win in their semi final game against Paraguay, and that will have given them a huge amount of confidence that they are finally getting back to their best at the perfect time.

Chile must find a way of nullifying the threat of Lionel Messi - not only as a goalscorer, but also as a provider for his teammates. For much of this tournament Argentina have not seemed to click together well, and they labored to wins in some of their early games. However, they looked dangerous in the semi finals, and if they can maintain that form into today's final then the task may be just too tough for Chile.

Chile must gel together perfectly for today's game to defend with intensity and be able to switch to attack swiftly and effectively. For too much of this competition, Chile's attacking threat has not been at its best, with Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez among those who have yet to really get into his stride.

There would be no better time for the Chilean players to find their best form than in this final, and if they can they should provide a stiff test for Messi and co.

Three players today could claim the Copa America 2015 Golden Boot Award, with Eduardo Vargas (4), Arturo Vidal (3) and Sergio Aguero (3) all high up in the goal charts right now.

Chile have been tactically spot in many of their games, and they will have to be so again today to contain this Argentinian attack, as well as look to expose any weaknesses in their defense. The likes of Marcelo Diaz, Vidal and Charles Aranguiz will all have to be at the top of their game if they are to nullify the threat of Messi and co.

Probably at the start of the game Chile will be looking to make sure they don't concede any early goals, as this could open the floodgates - like what happened in the semi final between Argentina and Paraguay. If they can get towards half time still level they will look to gain confidence and start to create more and more chances of them own in the hope of sneaking a goal or two.

If they can get their noses in front at any point, it could make Argentina panic, and with them being forced to stretch themselves forward more it would allow more space to open at the back for Chile to expose. However, all of this would rely on Chile making sure they do not get caught out early on, as Argentina have the players to take the game away from teams in a flash if they can even get their tails up for 15 minutes or so.
