The widely popular HGTV reality television show, "Fixer Upper," has already began airing its fifth and final season, to the dismay of many fans. Given the show's tremendous popularity, it has led many to speculate as to why it is ending in the first place with only five seasons under its belt. The show's hosts, couple Chip and Joanna Gaines, have been very gracious so far in dealing with speculations, but people have not stopped asking about the show's abrupt stop.

In a report by Vanity Fair, the main reason why Chip and Joanna could be calling it quits with HGTV stemmed from some internal conflict with their own line of home products, called "Hearth and Hand." The two already have businesses outside of the show, and people have clamored and skipped work just to get ahold of some of their products when they were released at Target.

As it turns out, Chip was very persistent in trying to market and advertise their "Hearth and Hand" products in "Fixer Upper," which is something that the HGTV network simply did not allow them to do. In addition to that, Chip and Joanna did not partner up with HGTV to sell their products — hence, the conflict of interest. This has allegedly led the couple to cut ties with HGTV, and are now in talks with other networks for another television show.

It seems that the because of "Fixer Upper," however, Chip and Joanna will not be able to create a similar show — even if it is with another television network. According to Cinema Blend, Chip and Joanna's representative at Magnolia Market, Brock Murphy, has reiterated that the "real reason" why the couple has decided to end the show is so that they can rest from the tiring business of home improvement.

However, once the network contracts have been hashed out completely, Chip and Joanna's break might not last for too long.
