Christian Band Aid Raising for Tsunami Survivors with 'One Voice, One Heart'

'One Voice, One Heart' is a charity single created by the combined forces of 200 leading Christian musicians, and has been dubbed as the 'Christian Band Aid', aimed to raise funds for tsunami survivors and victims from the Asia tragedy in December 2004.

The single features diverse artists from the Christian music circle and has been produced by Linslee Campbell (Lighthouse Family). The project was taken from an idea sparked by The London Community Gospel Choir’s co-founder Laurence Johnson.

Johnson reported, "It's important the Christian community does all it can to help tsunami survivors who are trying to rebuild their lives. I felt I could do my bit to help in raising funds by organizing the recording of charity single. I have been overwhelmed by the response from artists up and down the country and everyone I've approached wants to get onboard and have given their full support."

Orchestras and artists all gave their performances and services for free, whilst world-famous Abbey Road complex provided studio and production time at no charge.

All funds will go to charity, Jubilee Action and in rebuilding an Indian fishing colony, which was destroyed in the disaster on Boxing Day 2004.

In addition, UK’s Premier Christian Radio, which helped Cliff Richard’s Millennium Prayer in 1999 reach number one, has stepped in to support the promotion of the new charity record by playing it regularly for listeners.

"One Voice, One Heart demonstrates what can happen when Christians pull together for a worthy cause," expressed John Pantry, Premier’s Breakfast Presenter.
