Christian 'For King & Country' singer thanks fans for prayers after son undergoes skull surgery
Prayer is every Christian's weapon against evil, including sicknesses. Luke Smallbone from the Christian duo for King & Country has relied on prayer heavily for the past few weeks especially since his son, Leo, has undergone reconstructive surgery on his skull.
The young boy received the surgery on Wednesday morning and Smallbone sought prayers from fans leading up to the medical procedure, according to Charisma News. The prayer movement really helped Leo, because Smallbone provided a happy update on Instagram (@forkingandcountry).
"Our sweet Leo is out of surgery & all went better than expected," he wrote. "We should have a week or so in the hospital depending on his healing & are so proud of the champ he is. We are very thankful for all of your prayers & continue lifting him up as he heals."
After this post, Smallbone provided another one saying that his wife, Courtney, really stepped up to the plate after what happened to their son. Her deep faith in God amidst their ordeal really strengthened Smallbone's own personal relationship with God.
"This has not been an easy journey and honestly, Leo's had quite a dramatic life so far, but I am completely blown away by my wife's consistency in such deep prayer," he said. "I'm a different man having witnessed her great faith in praying for his protection, and for blessings on his life. We could not be more joyful in bringing our little Leo home."
It was really divine intervention that Leo was saved and rushed to the hospital.
Luke and his wife, Courtney, discovered that Leo needed skull surgery after he was admitted to the hospital for another health concern. Back in September 2017, the couple reported that Leo was no longer breathing and looked "gray and lifeless" while he was sleeping.
"Yesterday I was mowing the lawn when I heard my wife frantically yelling for me to call 911," Smallbone shared. "I wasn't immediately sure why until I saw her holding our little boy, Leo, who was very gray and looking lifeless. She felt God impress on her to check on him while he was napping and after many prayers and some CPR, our little boy started to breathe again."
Smallbone wished for nothing more than for his son to be spared any physical pain, but the singer said he is grateful for Leo's healing and restoration, which is a true "gift from God."
