Christian men’s magazine launches iPad app

Christian men’s magazine Sorted has launched a brand new iPad app in the hope of reaching even more young men.

The Sorted app is available on the iPad and iPhone and contains the magazine in its entirety, including special features, regular columnists and advertisers.

Editor Steve Legg believes more Christian magazines should embrace app technology for the iPhone and iPad.

“More apps have been downloaded than there are people on the planet and they're the biggest technological phenomenon since the smart phone,” he said.

“For us as an evangelistic ministry with a heart to reach the world with the Gospel, it really is a no-brainer for us to have apps on the iPhone and iPad.”

Sorted is the UK’s first Christian magazine for men, launched in 2007 as a wholesome alternative to men’s magazines like Nuts and Loaded.

The latest edition of Sorted features Tom Jones talking about his new Gospel album.

Legg believes apps are a great way to reach young people outside the church.

“Latest research shows that people aged 16 to 24 years old use 10 apps daily which is double the national average of just under 5. What a wonderful opportunity for the Church to engage with this age group,” he said.

“Literally millions of people download, buy, use and talk about them, so it's thrilling to be a part of this global phenomenon.”
