Christian Skateboarders to Unite for Christ

|PIC1|Christian Surfers UK have moved closer to their goal of holding their first ever Christian skate conference this year after a recent planning session in Manchester between the leaders of 15 of the UK's leading skate ministries.

The meeting was hosted by the Manchester Projekts Skate Team and chaired by Phil Williams, Director of Christian Surfers UK.

The organisation of the conference follows the highly successful launch in May 2006 of the Skate Ministry Leaders Network.

In the course of the day, the skate ministries were able to strengthen and encourage one another in planning the new skate conference - a key event for the progression of inter-skate ministry relations.

The skate leaders set the date for the UK's first ever skate ministry conference to be held this year from 9 to 11 November at the 'Factory' Skate Park, run by a team of Christians and one of the country's leading skate facilities.

The skate ministry leadership team will meet again on 16 May in Birmingham when they will agree the next stage of preparations for the conference.

Meanwhile, Christian Surfers UK, in conjunction with 'Ignite', 'Event 53', and 'In2surf' shop will promote the February 7 Switchfoot concert in Swansea. The band are all sponsored surfers from the US who will be in the UK for a five-date tour.

Christian Surfers UK will be raising funds on the night for Surf Relief UK when they partner with a number of organisations for disabled and disadvantaged people throughout 2007.
