Christians Gather In London To Pray For Burma

Christians from all over the world will be meeting in London on March 13th to pray for democracy, freedom, peace and justice in Burma.

The Global Day of Prayer for Burma, which takes place each year, will be held at St. Paul's Church, Robert Adam Street, London W1U 3HW (nearest tube station: Bond Street).

The Day of Prayerwas started in 1997 by Christians Concerned for Burma (www.prayforburma.org), as a result of a direct request from Burma's democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.

International organisations report that Burma's human rights situation has deteriorated in the past year, with the attempted assassination and subsequent detention of Aung San Suu Kyi on May 30th, 2003 and the killing of hundreds of her supporters.
