Christmas is right around the corner and entertainment company Netflix is joining in on the fun. The company is adding a handful of Christmas-themed films and family-friendly shows to its roster this holiday season. Here are some of the movies available this December.

"The Nightmare Before Christmas" is a 1993 stop-animation film directed by Henry Selick and produced by Tim Burton and Denise Di Novi. A popular film for both Halloween and Christmas, "The Nightmare Before Christmas" tells the story of Jack Skellington and the residents of Halloween Town.

After one too many Halloween celebration, Jack decides that he wants to do something different. He heads to Christmas town, and once he returns to Halloween town, tries to introduce Christmas to his friends. The residents of Halloween town will not accept Jack's attempts of celebrating Christmas, but Jack is determined and tries his best to make his friends appreciate the holiday.

Another movie that will be available on Netflix is "Bad Santa."

A show meant for a more mature audience, "Bad Santa" is about a conman and his partner. Once a year on Christmas, Willie and Marcus meet up to scam people. Their plan – have Willie dress up as Santa and Marcus as an elf. By day the two work listen to children's wishes, by night they attempt to rob the various stores inside the shopping mall.

While not exactly a family-friendly film, "Bad Santa" is good for some laughs. The movie has received mostly positive ratings and has garnered a score of 78/100 on Rotten Tomatoes.

Another classic that is coming to Netflix this holiday season is the movie "Gremlins."

Released in 1984, "Gremlins" is an interesting mix of Christmas and Monster movie. While classified as a horror movie, the effects from the 80's do away with most of the movie's scare factor. It is an interesting title for those looking for something fun and a little different.
