Church Army Launch New Campaign - "What will they believe?"

A new campaign being launched by the Church Army is being presented with the slogan "What will they believe?" It focuses on mission at home here in the UK, and the campaign will be launched at this year's Christian Recourses Exhibition, Sandown Park, May 10-13, according to ASSIST News Service.

Church Army is a group of evangelist within the Anglican Communion with the goal to enable people to achieve living faith in Jesus Christ. The new campaign puts stress on home mission and it is hoped that Christians all over the UK and Ireland will support the campaign with prayer, and work as volunteers or help by providing financial support.

Evangelists, parish representatives and fundraisers will use new posters, banners, leaflets, mugs and bookmarks that all feature images of young children. The heart among all the materials used in campaign is the four page leaflet showing the challenge for home mission in the nation where many people are receding from church and don't believe the church can provide the answer to questions they have concerning life and faith.

Philip Johanson Church Army's Chief Secretary comments: "We find that Christians are really shocked to discover that although there is a growing interest in spiritual issues - people don't seem to view the church as having the answers to their questions. We feel that the time is right for "What will they believe?" to provide a focus to share how important our work is in reaching those who would otherwise have little or no opportunity to hear or respond to the gospel."

These days almost 60% of people are outside the reach of Church and consider faith as not important, so the goal and position of Church Army is to build the relationship with these people.

Johanson added: "This is long term work, and needs profile and funds to ensure that existing projects can be consolidated and that similar work can be established in more areas."
