Church Army Offers Support for Homelessness Sunday 2007

Church Army's Chief Executive, Mark Russell, has launched Church Army's support for Homelessness Sunday outside the Marylebone Project in London this week.

Homelessness Sunday will be held on 28 January 2007. The Church Army chief executive recently spoke of reaching out to the vulnerable and marginalised in society.

He said, "I am delighted that Homelessness Sunday helps the church to focus on the injustices which society inflicts on homeless and poorly housed people - this is an issue close to the heart of Church Army."

The pack for Homelessness Sunday features the work of Church Army's Marylebone Project and the Bridge Project - both of which focus on meeting the needs of homeless and vulnerable women. The work of Church Army evangelists David Palmer (Swansea) and Ralph Upton (Aberdare) are also featured.

Mark Russell adds; "Jesus represents hope for our nation - and it is that hope that we are aiming to share with homeless people through our projects. I have been delighted to see at first hand how a number of our projects are focused on doing just that.
