Church Army Sends Out Evangelicals to Support Kidz Klub Project

Church Army's Evangelists Adrian Prescott and David Collierwill join the Kidz Klub team in Liverpool in August in an attempt to bring more strength to the ministry.

Kidz Klub is the Liverpool-based project that focuses on transforming the lives of 4-11 year olds who don't have the opportunity for a healthy and happy family life. Kidz Klub consists of two parts - a weekly meeting and a home visit that makes the child feel special and a relationship between the leader and the child can be built.

The meeting is packed with action and fun, as it includes games, interactive activities, learning recourses accompanied by proper Bible messages, prayer and worship.

The project receives the praise from the Bishop of Liverpool Rt Rev James Jones who described it as "excellent and extraordinary in touching the lives of young people."

Project co-ordinator, Phil Clark is very excited about the coming of Church Army evangelists and looks forward to their efforts, as they will bring with them their many varied skills and gifts: "Adrian is fantastic with modern gadgets and wants to work in schools while David wants to build relationships with the families of the Kidz Klub children. It's a good combination as they've both got extra skills which will be good for the team and together we can build on the strengths we already have."

"There's an atmosphere of hope in the community," continues Phil Clark. "And a sense of joy and celebration amidst all the trouble – as a result of the work we're doing on the estate. Kidz Klub and the weekly visits are the highlight of the week for many children. I am hoping the appeal will give David and Adrian a new start and that it will be an encouragement to them as they begin a new and challenging position with Kidz Klub."

In the mid-year appeal backed by Rt Rev James Jones, Church Army is focusing on the £50,000 needed to support the ministries of Adrian Prescott and David Collier. The appeal includes the testimonies of Ben and Claire whose lives were changed after attending the Kidz Klub.

Claire, who came to Kidz Klub at 11 years old and is now a team leader comments: "Without Kidz Klub I would never have found God. Through Kidz Klub I've got loads of great mates who constantly encourage me- it's great, I love it!"

Rt Rev James Jones expressed his joy over the appointments of two evangelists: "I would like to offer a warm welcome to two recently commissioned Church Army evangelists Captains’ Adrian Prescott and David Collier who will be joining existing project leader Captain Phil Clark to continue and build upon the important work of Kidz Klub. I strongly support the exciting, life-changing work that is being done on the Page Moss estate and encourage you to get involved to support this great cause that is transforming children’s lives."
