Ciara Teaches Son Future How to Sing 'Jesus Loves Me' Hymn

The Bible verse Proverbs 22:6 teaches Christians: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Singer Ciara, who just married NFL star Russell Wilson, seems to take this verse to heart as she is teaching her son Future Zahir Wilburn to love and praise Jesus Christ.

On her Instagram account (@ciara), the "Body Party" songstress posted a video showing her son Future strumming a toy guitar while singing ABCs. "Welp, He Said, 'That's All You Gon Get For Today,'" Ciara captioned the video.

Little Future was singing a kid song when his mom asked him, "What about the Jesus song?" He complied and sang the "Jesus Loves Me" hymn by William Batchelder Bradbury. Ciara herself couldn't resist when she heard the song and joined her son in singing the song. But Future soon became distracted and grabbed the remote control.

Ciara already entertained thoughts of her son following her footsteps and becoming an entertainer when he grows up. However, the Christian singer said she would support her son no matter what career he decides to pursue.

"I'll support him with whatever his heart desires as long as it's something positive and productive. My mom was hesitant about me being in music but she gave me room to figure it out. It's important to allow your kids to pursue their dreams," she earlier told Metro. "You don't want someone to wish they could have achieved something but were forced to do something else. But show business is a tough world. Ideally I wouldn't want him to do it but if his heart desires it then I'll support him."

Even though her relationship with Future's father, also named Future, headed south after their engagement, Ciara still feels grateful for having little Future in her life. She even said motherhood is a gift from God. Meanwhile, Ciara and Wilson are expecting another baby who is due sometime next year.

In 2008, Wilson Femayi was wrongly convicted and sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. He had just graduated from Bible college. His arrest — the result of a personal vendetta — was a devastating moment. But even in that dark place, God was at work. Today, Wilson is the Executive Director of Prison Fellowship Zimbabwe, leading programmes that are restoring prisoners and reuniting families across the country.
