'Clash of Clans': Big updates coming next month

Supercell

The last big update to "Clash of Clans" was back in December, which saw the introduction of the Town Hall 11. However, as reported from GottaBeMobile, developer Supercell is adamant on further improving the game and that there is a major update coming this March.

The report quotes the "Clash of Clans" Facebook page where fans have been asking for any update on the next patch for the game. In response to one of these inquiries, the developers stated that they were working on something new and that it is expected to launch before April, placing it at a March release window.

Of the different additions coming, one that has been confirmed is a new Dark Elixir troop that will be unlocked for Town Hall 10 players. It is noted in the report that the Dark Barracks has several slots labeled "coming soon" and it is likely one of these slots will open up for this new Dark Elixir troop.

A second change that the report points out is a new set of Dark Spell Factory slots. By updating this there is the opportunity for high level players to unlock newer, more powerful spells. This is more or less specifically catering to players who have reached Town Hall 10 and above.

An Ice Mage is also rumored to be able to freeze enemy buildings, allowing troops to invade and wreck havoc without any of the building's defenses fighting back. This is speculated to be another type of Dark Elixir troop and is being compared to the game's Wizard.

It was previously believed that "Clash of Clans" may not see an update anytime soon as Supercell is currently spending their time and effort on their new mobile strategy game, "Clash Royale." However, the announcements from Facebook indicate that this is not the case and that Supercell is not yet abandoning "Clash of Clans."
