Supercell's "Clash of Clans" is scheduled to receive a new update this December, and in the latest sneak peek on YouTube, several details regarding the update have been discussed in depth. In particular, the latest video posted showcases how the larger map will affect structures and obstacles.

According to the video, enlarging the map from 40x40 tiles to 44x44 tiles might not immediately seem like much but is in fact a growth of 21 percent. In expanding the map, there is the likelihood of outward structures being pushed out. However, only obstacles placed on the grass will be moved while others are confirmed to remain where they are.

This also means that obstacles like Christmas trees and gem boxes located within the map's edges and are not touching the grass will stay right where they are. Players will have to work around their placement when building and expanding their base to take full advantage of the larger map size.

Also showcased in the video sneak peek is that assault time has now been extended by 30 seconds. However, while this gives attackers more time to plan their attack, study the enemy base, and rework their strategy, the game's update will also prevent attackers from spamming dragons and golems.

Instead, the game update will push for the use of kill squads and higher level strategies. This will prevent players from mindlessly spamming as many high level creatures such as dragons to completely obliterate an enemy base without having to re-work how they attack.

One last change showcased is the war preparation period has now been cut down from 24 hours to merely 23 hours. While this might not seem like a big change, the loss of one hour is reportedly going to allow clans to simultaneously launch wars without delay.

No official release date for the update has been given thus far, but according to a report from the iDigital Times the update is expected to release this Dec. 7.
