Think about a three-disc collection of classical music and the chances are that ‘incredible worship experience’ might not be the first three words to enter your mind.

‘Symphony of Praise’ aims to take the listener on an incredible journey of praise and worship guided by classical music at its very best.

The Prague Symphony Orchestra – an eighty-piece collective who complete as many as two hundred recording sessions a year, for everything from film soundtracks to CDs (including our own Graham Kendrick and CompassionArt) – are at the heart of the action.

Symphony of Praise has a track listing that covers just about every major song on which the history of church worship has been built.

Each of the discs takes one person of the Trinity as its overarching inspiration, then further dividing into three movements. Disc one’s theme of ‘God The Father’ starts with instrumental versions of songs like ‘All Heaven Declares’ before moving on to explore the theme of grace and mercy through songs like ‘So Freely’ and wrapping up with the eternal hope of songs like ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’.

Disc two revolves around the Son – taking in tracks like ‘The Servant King’, ‘When I Survey’ and ‘Thine Be The Glory’ – while the final instalment draws deep on songs inspired by the notion of God as Breath, Comforter and Power – with songs like ‘As The Deer’, ‘O Come O Come Emmanuel’ and ‘Be Thou My Vision’.
