The Chiefs looked down and out just weeks ago, but they have turned their season around spectacularly and now they are close to clinching a Playoff berth.

They will be looking to secure their ninth straight win today against the Browns, which would match their franchise record for consecutive victories. It has been a huge turnaround since their poor opening to the season.

Coach Andy Reid has said, "I like the football team. I like the makeup, even during that (losing) time. We have some character guys."

The Chiefs have turned a 1-5 start to the season into their current 9-5 record, and if they can maintain their current form then they will fancy themselves to be real contenders in the postseason.

Receiver Jeremy Maclin said, "Everybody knew what this team was capable of. Now we're kind of putting it together, (but) we still have a way to go before we get to where we want to be."

Earlier this week on Saturday night, the NFC East division was all but concluded, with the Washington Redskins defeating the Philadelphia Eagles to confirm themselves as division champions.

The Redskins clinched the division title, and with it a postseason spot, with a comfortable 38-24 win. Their appearance in the Playoffs this season will be their first since the 2012 season, and comes as a surprise as not many had predicted the Redskins would take the NFC East at the start of the season.

The result means the 8-7 Redskins will play a home Playoff game against the No. 5 seeded team in the NFC. At the moment that would mean a match up against the Seattle Seahawks, which would be a massive challenge as they have made huge strides in the second half of the season and at the moment look like one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

If the results in the coming few weeks shake things up more though, then the Redskins could get a game against the 9-5 Minnesota Vikings, which is another daunting prospect for Washington. However, at the moment the Redskins may just want to enjoy the fact that they're back in the postseason and whoever it turns out they face, what will be will be.

Kirk Cousins has been one of the core reasons the Redskins have managed to surprise people this season, and he has played above everyone's expectations. On Saturday night he completed 31 of 46 throws for 365 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.

At the start of the season, the Redskins suffered poor form through their opening six games. During that period, Kirk Cousins threw eight interceptions, where as in the nine games since he threw just three.

They will need the new improved Kirk Cousins if they are to make an impact in the Playoffs.
