Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt is confident LeBron James will be playing in their season opener on Oct. 28 when they visit the Chicago Bulls at the United Center. 

Doubt has been casted on James' availability for the first game of the Cavs' 2015–16 campaign after he played in only two of seven preseason games, and last week had an anti-inflammatory injection for his back. 

"I would say he will absolutely be ready for the season opener. Absolutely," Blatt said about James' status for their opener, according to ESPN. 

The Cavaliers did not do great in the preseason, winning only once which was in their final preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks at the Quicken Loans Arena. 

ESPN also reported that Blatt said James practiced with the team before Monday's win over the Mavs, but the coaching staff found it unnecessary for him to still play in the game. 

The news of the 31-year-old basketball star being ready for the season opener gives a sigh of relief to fans. Last season, Cleveland faced major injuries to its key players which hindered the team from showing its full potential.

James lifted the team in the 2014–15 season especially in the playoffs, where they lost All-Star caliber players Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. 

But Love has already played for the Cavaliers this preseason, making his debut last Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. 

Unfortunately, Irving has yet to be featured in any of the Cavs' games in the preseason and is likely to miss time when the regular season takes place as he continues to recover from a knee injury suffered in Game 1 of last season's National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals. 

Although along with Love, big men Anderson Varejao and Timofey Mozgov who also had injuries already have seen action for Cleveland in their preseason games.
