Cleveland Cavaliers vs Golden State Warriors game date: Tentative date for NBA Finals rematch set for Christmas Day

What better way to treat the fans on Christmas Day, December 25, 2015, than with a rematch of the recently concluded NBA Finals.

Barring any changes, NBA fans will be able to see if the Cleveland Cavaliers have done the necessary adjustments against the reigning Golden State Warriors over in Oakland, California.

The schedule remains tentative for now and could change if the NBA office does so next week when they release the official schedule of the coming regular season.

The Golden State Warriors are practically the same unit that wrested the 2014-15 NBA trophy with David Lee the only mainstay gone. Lee is now with the Boston Celtics in a trade involving Gerard Wallace.

Wallace didn't suit up a single game for the Warriors after being immediately dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers for a younger Jason Thompson.

On the other end, the Cavs lineup has yet to be finalized. Lebron James and Kevin Love have already been re-signed on separate contracts but Tristan Thompson remains unsigned as of this writing.

J.R. Smith's case is also up in the air after the swingman opted out of his previous contract with the Cavs. Smith shunned the guaranteed $6.4 million contract but could end up settling for less money if he is indeed bent on returning in a Cavs uniform.

Aside from James and Love, the Cavs will bring back Kyrie Irving, Timofey Mozgov, Anderson Varejao, Iman Shumpert and Matthew Delladedova. The new faces include Richard Jefferson and possibly Sasha Kaun if the Russian is indeed serious of playing for the Cavs at a league minimum salary.

Aside from the Cavs vs. Warriors setto, another match tentatively scheduled could see the Miami Heat going up against the Anthony Davis-led New Orleans Pelicans. This was reported by the Miami Herald.

The final schedule of the regular season is set to be released this coming Tuesday, August 11, 2015.
