CM Punk returning to WWE news: Hints at possible wrestling return?

CM Punk did say before that he is done with wrestling but he didn't of course close the door for another company.

With Punk currently focusing on his UFC debut, the former WWE star teased a light moment on Twitter when Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) co-owner John Thorne joked about cancelling a certain bout which involved Punk's buddy Samoa Joe.

Thorne was apparently referring to cancelling Joe's upcoming match against Indy star Johnny Gargano. Via Twitter, the AIW co-owner joked that he would cancel the match if CM Punk would be willing to come out of retirement to face him.

Punk eventually replied (lightheartedly) with a simple "How much?" to which the co-owner responded that the ample crowd support to afford a celebrity like Punk.

All of that was of course considered a tease and Punk doesn't seem to be interested in going back to wrestling at least for the time being.

Punk left the WWE for allegedly forcing him to appear despite injuries and vowed never to return to the WWE ever again. After Punk officially announced that he would be trying his hand out on MMA fighting, any hopes of seeing Punk wrestling was shot down.

Despite the complaints and rants Punk had against the WWE, COO Triple H and CEO Vince McMahon did not close the door on Punk. In fact, both said that a return by Punk is not discounted.

It was during a podcast last year where Punk revealed that the WWE had some alleged medical malpractices. He cited the 2014 Royal Rumble wherein he was forced to compete with a baseball-sized lump on his back to which the WWE claimed that they were not informed of such a condition.

Regardless of the turmoil between Punk and the WWE, it is widely speculated that Punk would eventually return. Samoa Joe believes that Punk would return to the ring someday but all that could depend on how he makes it in the UFC.
