Former WWE superstar will buckle down to work as he is set to start training camp. His chosen place is Roufusport MMA Academy where he will start training this coming January.

Punk, who shifted his attention to the real fighting after a falling out with WWE management, could follow the footsteps of Brock Lesnar who is currently at the top of the WWE Universe. Like Lesnar, Punk could become eventual UFC champ if he is lucky.

But for now, all that is farthest for the 36 year old fighter who is set to undergo rigid mixed martial arts training as he prepares for his UFC debut by late 2015.

This early though, CM Punk could be facing top fighters like Nate Diaz or even Anderson Silva. And he knows that whomever he faces will not entirely be up to him.

"Who I fight isn't 100 percent up to me. I don't think it's 100 percent up to any fighter," CM Punk said. according to MMA Fighting. "That's what the (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silvas of the world are for."

Of the two however, a possible match against Nate Diaz seems more interesting. Diaz called CM Punk an amateur and considered his signing a downgrade for the UFC, saying that the former WWE wrestler has no fights to his credit.

While it is a given that Punk's shift to real fighting could prove to be a long road ahead, he stressed that he has no intention of ever going back to the WWE.

"They didn't like me long before I left and there's no reason to pretend there needs to be any kind of working relationship," he said, according to Florida Today.

One of the main questions surrounding Punk's new career is his health. Apparently his health was one of the main issues that led to his clashes and eventual departure from the WWE. And at the ripe age of 36, the future looks doubly challenging for Punk.

Punk made it clear though that among his reasons to step into the octagon was to inspire.

"Part of the reason I'm doing this is just to maybe inspire one kid, one kid who's told he can't do something," he said. "If I try and fail, at least I've tried. And a true failure is not trying."
