People don't just tune into World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) for the wrestling or the drama. Most of the time, it's the big comebacks that make for the best entertainment and for a couple of months now, a former big name wrestler has been rumored to make a comeback: CM Punk. It might seem like a lifetime ago when CM Punk first left WWE back in 2014, but it has actually only been about three years.

His final wrestling stint was during the Royal Rumble 2014 and ever since then, he has been participating in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) instead, abandoning the ring for the octagon. But while he may have departed from the wrestling scene, there is no arguing that the former WWE superstar still has an incredible presence in the world of combat sports.

According to Forbes, the 38-year old was offered one million dollars to participate in a wrestling match in the United Kingdom just recently. The man who made the offer, 5 Star Wrestling owner Daniel Hinkles, also fell victim to a Twitter hack, wherein the perpetrator tweeted a post announcing that CM Punk had taken the offer. This caused quite a stir and Hinkles' Twitter account was suspended due to the incident.

While his UFC career has been less than colorful, his presence alone at the UFC 203 added about 125,000 to 225,000 buys. This just goes to show that wherever CM Punk is, he is sure to make a loud splash. However, with the way his UFC career has been going, it is definitely clear that wrestling is where he should be.

After the conclusion of the NXT Takeover: Chicago, an image of CM Punk circulated online which made fans believe that he was actually at the wrestling event. However, the image was then proven a hoax and certainly, many fans' hearts were broken.

Still, one should not just let go of a CM Punk wrestling return just yet because time and time again, WWE has proven that it is a place of reconciliation. There are a lot of WWE superstars who had said their goodbyes to the wrestling world but eventually made a U-turn back to the ring. So, who knows what would happen in the future? WWE is certainly more colorful with CM Punk.
