WWE star AJ Lee stands up for WWE Divas rights, tweets Stephanie McMahon

AJ Lee may not be on active duty in the WWE but she certainly is keeping track of the things going on with the company. In fact, it seems AJ has all the time to monitor things via Twitter to which a tweet from Stephanie McMahon drew an unlikely reaction from the WWE Diva.

Apparently it all started out when WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon pledged her support for a cause through Twitter. During the last Oscars, Patricia Arquette delivered a speech which in all covered how women should receive equal pay.

Apparently, the tweet somehow drew a reaction from AJ Lee. After retweeting Stephanie's message, AJ went on to challenge Stephanie to do the same in the WWE. AJ was obviously referring to the WWE Divas who, as she put it, received only a fraction of wages and screen time compared to their male counterparts.

Stephanie eventually replied with a simple "Thank You" and that she appreciated her opinion.

Apparently the timing came at a time where a Twitter movement, #GiveDivasAChance, was up. The movement came up after a short match (just seconds) involving Paige, Emma and the Bella Twins held during Monday Night Raw.

Vince McMahon replied as well with "We hear you. Keep Watching #GiveDivasAChance" so it will be interesting to see if the movement was able to sway some kind of improvement as far as giving the WWE Divas a fair chance of being seen on the various WWE shows.

As far as AJ Lee is concerned, the former Divas champion is still on the injured list and there is still no official word on when she would be coming back. While there were rumors before that she would be returning at the 2015 Royal Rumble, AJ Lee was nowhere in sight.
