October last year, Colombia played two matches at the Red Bull Arena facing El Salvador and Canada, which both ended in wins for Los Cafeteros.

Colombia had a great run at the 2015 Copa América making it past the group stage but were beaten by Argentina in the knockout stage through penalties.

In the tournament, Colombia was grouped with Tuesday's opponent Peru and both nations finished the group stage with four points, with the match between the two ending in a scoreless draw.

Meanwhile, Peru reached farther in the 2015 Copa América making it past the knockout stage with a 3–1 win over Bolivia but failed to make it past host nation Chile in the semi-finals losing 2–1.

Chile would end up winning the Copa America championship, which was the nation's first in the history of the tournament.

Los Incas will have all the odds stacked against them since they will be playing in an unfamiliar territory.

Peru is yet to play at the Red Bull Arena and the friendly against Colombia on Tuesday will be the first time the nation will be gracing the field.

The last time the Peruvians defeated Colombia was in the 2011 Copa América. Since then, they were beaten twice by Los Cafeteros in World Cup qualifying matches in 2012 and 2013 before the recent draw in the 2015 Copa América.

The match between Colombia and Peru will be played on Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
