Denver Broncos vs Colts - Peyton Manning's Payback

Close to three years ago, the Indianapolis Colts cut Peyton Manning and built around number one overall pick Andrew Luck. The Colts were apparently concerned about the actual state of health of Manning, hoping he would recuperate and eventually win a Super Bowl. And apparently that is why they decided to go with Luck.

In a sort of déjà vu for Manning and the Colts, both meet but on opposite sides. Manning has the golden opportunity for payback and get the chance to win another Super Bowl, something that Colt's owner Jim Irsay believed could happen.

And now it is actually happening but maybe at their expense. Manning leads a cast which could very well make it all the way but before that happens, he must conquer his former team, the Colts. The Broncos are 7.5 favorites and over/under in the game is 52.

The Broncos are more seasoned and are looking to make consecutive Super Bowl appearances. It will be the third time that both teams would be meeting in the playoffs and the Colts may need a lot of "Luck" to offset that disadvantage.

The two teams actually met in the regular season with the Broncos coming out on top, 31-24. But the Colts are hoping that their 26-10 triumph over the Cincinnati Bengals could energize them against the Broncos come January 11, 2015 2:40 p.m. over at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

And hopefully much of that energy comes from the defensive side of things. Apparently the Colts' defense is something that Broncos should be wary about. Such was witnessed during their match against the Bengals where they only allowed 135 yards.

However it remains to be seen if they can continue that against a wittier Broncos club who themselves have defensive gems of their own.

The Broncos vs. Colts match will take place on January 11 at 4:40 p.m. (ET) and will be televised by CBS. You can also catch the game online by clicking here.
