Italy come into this game following a marathon match against World and European champions Spain. They eventually lost on penalties but now have to lift themselves just three days later for their game against the other semifinal loser, Uruguay.

Speaking about the scheduling issues for his team at the tournament, Italy coach Cesare Prandelli said: "Perhaps the whole formula of the competition should be reviewed in order to give teams a bit more time to recover, especially when you play in this heat. It might be risky to play at such a short distance of time."

Meanwhile Uruguay will also be extremely tired for what will be their 7th game in just 25 days.

However, their coach Oscar Tabarez believes the Confederations Cup has proved his side can now continue on and ensure they secure their place in the World Cup 2014 in Brazil: "If we play like this we are in a position to play anyone, and that is ground that we have gained for the qualifiers ahead. We can compete with top-level teams. That's a plus when it comes to playing future matches."

Meanwhile the entire soccer world will be tuning in to see the final between next year's World Cup hosts Brazil and current World Cup and Euro champs Spain. Most would usually say Spain are the favorites, however, Brazil are never an easy side to play, and the game will be taking place in the Estadio Maracana. This game will see arguably the two best technical teams on the planet come to a head, and it makes for a mouth-watering climax to the entire tournament and the perfect warm-up for fans looking towards next year's World Cup.
