'Constantine' season 2 move to The CW is 'just a rumor'

Ever since NBC made the "Constantine" cancellation official, executive producer Daniel Cerone and his team, which includes the multitude of fans feeling embittered over the show's untimely departure, started their campaign for the DC Comics adaptation's survival.

In their quest to find a new home for the supernatural detective, Cerone has brought forth interested parties such as "Arrow" lead star Stephen Amell, who expressed his interest in collaborating with Constantine for some crime-fighting action.

However, it seems like there is no way the series can cling to The CW for continued existence, despite the network being home to two epic DC Comics series and another potentially successful one,. During a conference call, The CW president Mark Pedowitz revealed that there is no truth behind the buzz that the company may be the show's new home.

"At the moment, it's just a rumor," Pedowitz dished out regarding the "Constantine" story being continued on the network.

"There's also a rumor going around that I was going to play for the NBA," he went on to say, implying how outrageous the speculation is.

In a tweet, Cerone expressed his dismay that the show is not landing on the network, which is currently doing a great job in fleshing out and expanding the DC Comics universe. "Constantine" would have been another enriching element for the established small screen comic book world. After all, the character is also a product of the universe where "The Flash," "Arrow," and "Legends of Tomorrow" came from.

"Despite ongoing talks I'm told things are not looking up for #Constantine at CW. Don't have details. Feeling wrecked about it. #Hellblazers," Cerone reportedly posted on Twitter. The tweet has now been deleted by the exec.

For now, the fate of "Constantine" is still up in the air but there remains a great effort for the show's possible move to another network or even to Netflix.
