Cortana, as announced by Microsoft during the company's E3 press conference, will be available to android devices. The smart virtual personal assistant is scheduled to be integrated into Xbox One this coming fall, however, Microsoft's announcement of Cortana's scheduled beta test with Android devices next month, came as a surprise. "Starting in July, the beta of the Cortana app for Android Phones will be available to test as a companion to Windows 10 PCs," said Marcus Ash, Cortana's program manager, in his blogpost.

Furthermore, Microsoft's move of integrating Cortana into other platforms and operating systems is not limited to Android but also extends to iOS devices. Through the same blogpost at Windows.com, Marcus Ash said, "At Microsoft, we want everyone to love not just their Windows 10 PC, but all the devices they own, working with their Windows 10 PC. Cortana for Windows 10, for Xbox One, for Android phone, and for iPhone connect the world's only personal digital assistant together across the devices you own and use."

However, the smart companion is only available in US English, causing an outrage over people that want to use the personal assistant but whose phones, like many HTC phones outside the US, don't have US English installed. Workarounds were offered, but those can only be done if the phone has US English installed, the ones that don't need to wait until it gets published in their language.

Toshiba, recently came out with its back-to-school laptop offers that will come with a preinstalled Windows 8.1, which is eligible for a free Windows 10 upgrade that will be bundled with the Cortana. The laptops have a dedicated built-in keyboard shortcut key just for launching Cortana within Windows 10. Other laptop brands are reported to be fitting their products with the the same Cortana quick-launch key.

Cortana was announced to be available in time for Windows 10's post-summer launch.
