"Counting On" season 6 just recently wrapped up, but no talks about the seventh season had been revealed, hinting at a possible cancellation.

Fans are worried sick that "Counting On" might not be coming back for a seventh run after TLC has kept its silence regarding the next season. This has left supporters of the Duggar family curious at what could have possibly caused the lack of details.

As of writing, there was no official announcement or statement on the show's fate, and even Lily and Ellie, who operate the website "The Original Duggar Family Fan Blog" claim to be close to the family, have no word on what would be happening to the "Counting On" series.

The Hollywood Gossip claimed that the "Counting On" show would be cancelled due to declining number of viewers, but fans should take the news with a grain of salt. The same news outfit had previously predicted the cancellation of the show in season 4, but the family favorite went beyond that and reached the recently-concluded sixth installment.

Meanwhile, Radar Online claimed that Derick Dillard's many controversies were "tearing the family apart." It could be a factor for the cancellation of the show as well. Apparently, Dillard had previously posted a video of people dancing, something against the family's religious beliefs. He then faced backlash online for trying to start a fundraiser and for bullying a transgender celebrity.

"Counting On" had enjoyed six seasons so far, since its conception as a spinoff from the original "19 Kids and Counting." The mother show's ratings soared high until TLC decided to cancel the show in 2015 after the sexual allegations that followed Josh Duggar.

Josh, the eldest child of the Duggar family, was accused of molesting five girls that included his younger sisters. Josh had also admitted to cheating on his wife, Anna, and had entered rehabilitation in Rockford, Illinois, in the same year.

"Counting On" season 6 aired its last episode on Oct. 23, which gave fans the glimpse of the wedding of Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell.
