All country singer Craig Strickland, 29, wanted to do last Dec. 27 was to hunt for ducks in Kaw Lake, Oklahoma with his good friend Chase Morland. Unfortunately, a severe storm tore through the area while they were out. Both men disappeared. Days later, their bodies were found. The doctors said they died of hypothermia.

Strickland's wife Helen wrote on her Instagram account (@helenelizabethstrickland) that Craig's body was found "in the shape of a cross looking up to his Father."

She shared a sweet photo of her with her husband and writes, "The night of the accident he had fought his way out of the water and up a hill before the stages of hypothermia set in. He experienced no pain in his final moments and simply felt like he was falling asleep. They found him lying in the shape of a cross looking up to his Father."

"Thank you to every single person who prayed for him and our family during this time. There was not a more peaceful way for him to go into the arms of our Lord, and I know your prayers had a role in making that happen. I know he saw Jesus at that moment when he laid down and walked arm in arm with Him into a better Everlasting Life," she said.

A lot of women poured their hearts out to Helen after reading her heartbreaking post. For days, Helen held out hope that Craig, who was a member of the country band Backroad Anthem, would somehow be found alive after the storm passed.

"My heart breaks for you, I was following this story since day one, and praying so hard for Craig to be found safe. I dreaded the thought of you going through a pain I know all too well. I became a widow almost 4 years ago, unexpectedly, it is a pain I would want to spare every woman from," a sympathetic fan wrote. "I am so sorry you are going through this. It is a hard road, but cling to the Lord. If not for my faith I would be lost. He will give you peace. God bless you."

Another commented: "I prayed for his body to be found ... thank Lord Jesus for answering our prayers."
