A new spin-off series from CBS will be featured in the upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds" season 10.

In the episode titled "Beyond Borders," the lead character in the still-untitled spin-off series will be introduced. It will be portrayed by seasoned TV actor Gary Sinise. 

Sinise will give life to Jack Garrett, a 20-year FBI veteran who is knowledgeable in handling cases involving Americans living in countries around the world. This time, Garrett's team will work with the agents from the Behavior Analysis Unit to find out where an American family was brought after being kidnapped during their vacation in Barbados. 

The team under Garrett's leadership will include Daniel Henney as Special Ops Agent Matthew Simmons, "The Walking Dead" alum Tyler James Williams as the tech guru of the team named Russ "Monty" Montgomery, as well as "Breaking Bad" actress Anna Gunn. 

The official synopsis for the episode reads: 

When a family of four is abducted while on vacation in Barbados, the BAU is called to assist Unit Chief Jack Garrett and his International Unit on their investigation. Garrett and his unit, the FBI's top division for handling cases involving Americans abroad, work jointly with Hotch and his team when they discover that this case matches one the BAU investigated last year in Florida."

This will be the second time the creators of "Criminal Minds" will try to come up with a new spin-off. Its first one was dubbed "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior" which starred actor Forest Whitaker back in 2011. But the show failed to rank in the ratings, and eventually cancelled after its first season. 

Sinise is known for his work on the long-running CBS spin-off "CSI: NY" that lasted for nine seasons, but he took a two-year hiatus from acting after the series ended. The "Criminal Minds" spin-off will be his first job again on TV.

"Criminal Minds" season 10 episode 19 will air on Wednesday, April 8.
