The Dirty Dozen will strike once again, this time by threatening Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "Criminal Minds."

In "Awake," CarterMatt reports that the two FBI profilers will be targeted by the group of underground hitmen. So far, the team has almost zero knowledge about the Dirty Dozen, aside from the fact that they are dangerous and can only be hired through huge sums of money. What little they know, they learned from Giuseppe Montolo (Robert Neary), but the informant was murdered in prison the previous episode.

Montolo was the whistleblower who revealed to Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) the whereabouts of the Dirty Dozen. Because of him, they learned that the new villain in town is a team of assassins who have so far avoided detection of the authorities until now. With Montolo's death, the Behavioral Analysis Unit's (BAU) hope of apprehending the Dirty Dozen has reached an all-time low. They do not have any leads on where the group will strike next. This time, though, it appears that the underground group will be the one to contact them personally. What does it want from the FBI?

Meanwhile, the team will be busy hunting down a criminal who gets a kick out of keeping his victims awake. This felon's modus is to deprive his prey of sleep by tormenting them. How will BAU approach this twisted individual?

Last episode, David Rossi's (Joe Mantegna) daughter Joy (Amber Stevens West) asked the help of the specialists to find a college student who vanished without a trace. She was an investigative journalist tapped to write an article about violence against women on campus. In her search, Joy found out that there was a pattern in the abduction of college students in the area. When another woman went missing, she decided to ask BAU for help.

Through the security cameras in the campus, the team learned that the student was abducted while she was walking home drunk after a party. The first suspect turned out to be a bust. Although he had been responsible for the disappearance of the other girls in the campus, he was not the culprit this time. After sifting through the evidence, BAU finally traced someone who had a year-long access to the university. A delivery guy from a Chinese restaurant was obsessed with the missing girl. Fortunately, she was still alive when she was found, as she managed to trick her abductor that she also loved him.
