"Criminal Minds" will end its 10th run on May 6, which is really close, and fans have started to look ahead into season 11. Unfortunately though, there is not much news about the renewal of the long-running show or assurance for that matter.

There is reason to get nervous about the return of the police procedural drama series for season 11 because up until now, no news or announcements regarding its renewal have surfaced. This, needless to say, is not a good sign.

When season 10 of "Criminal Minds" became official, CBS did not wait until season 9 ended to announce it. It isn't the case for season 11. So it's either CBS is thinking hard about throwing the BAU another round of mind-boggling crimes or the show has reached its final run.

The glimmer of hope comes from executive producer Erica Messer, who always hinted on her plans for season 11 and the big possibility of the series' renewal. There are reports where she claims that the cast of the show are already discussing their contracts.

According to TV Series Finale, the ratings for "Criminal Minds" are descending. Despite this, the show remains a big player for CBS and the site is not sure if that is enough to score another season. Furthermore, Jennifer Love Hewitt's rumored exit from the show has many speculating that it has something to do with the show's fate, too.

As of now, the renewal of "Criminal Minds" is an ongoing debate. Whether or not the May 6 season finale will serve as the conclusion for the whole series, it is best to get a load of the action that will transpire. The finale episode is titled "The Hunt," wherein "the creepy, Internet stalker guy from the premiere," as Messer described to Zap2it, will strike once more.
