For two years now, the first-person open-world game has been among the most anticipated titles, which goes to show how huge the fans' expectation is from it. Throughout the long period of waiting, only a few tidbits of information has been made public. Even so, it appears that CD Projekt RED is thinking well ahead of the "Cyberpunk 2077" release, as it is reported that the studio is ready to port the title not only to the current PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One consoles but also to the next-generation platform as well.

Both Microsoft and Sony have not yet confirmed that the next-gen consoles, the so-called Xbox Two and PlayStation 5, are currently under development. Nevertheless, CD Projekt RED looks to be geared up for this possibility. During the studio's presentation at the Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar 2018, CD Projekt RED CFO Piotr Nielubowicz and CEO Adam Kicinski discussed the process of creating "Cyberpunk 2077," with hints that the game is being prepped for the "current and next-generation technology."

Gaming Bolt has provided some of the presentation slides used by CD Projekt RED during the Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar, which reveal that "Cyberpunk 2077" could be on its way to the fabled PS5 and Xbox Two consoles in the coming years. Although, it is not likely that the game will be out by the time that the next-gen gaming platform has become a reality.

"Cyberpunk 2077" is expected to launch in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it is suspected that by this time, the current generation of gaming console could soon be replaced. The players could see a similar scenario back when Rockstar Games released "Grand Theft Auto V," the same year when Sony was about to introduce the PS4 to the public. CD Projekt Red could be thinking of the same thing with "Cyberpunk 2077." After all, nothing is really permanent in the gaming industry, with tech firms constantly updating their hardware year after year.
