Most casual gamers are oblivious about "Cyberpunk 2077." However, hardcore fans in the gaming industry are eagerly waiting for its release, and are even scouring online for the latest rumors and speculations about the upcoming title. 

For those not in the know, "Cyberpunk 2077" is an upcoming role-playing action game based on "Cyberpunk," a series of table-top RPG games. The upcoming digital game was first announced in 2012, and after a few months of speculations, public interest waned. 

However, since the gaming realm somehow expects the project to be released this year, attention has been building up once again, and the highlight is now focusing on what the title would be like when it launches. Adding to the mix, the developer for "Cyberpunk 2077" is CD Projekt Red, the company behind the latest hit title "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." 

The success of the company's latest fantasy and role-playing title might be a double-edged sword, though. While it is true that it would be a huge plus for an upcoming title like "Cyberpunk 2077" to be associated with a successful brother title, "The Witcher 3's" achievement might delay the upcoming game.  

Indeed, this might be what CD Projekt Red has in mind. In a story by Reuters, company CEO Adam Kicinski said that they would be concentrating in further developing "The Witcher 3," without commenting on possibly delaying upcoming titles.

"We hope and we are certain that 'Cyberpunk' has even bigger commercial potential," he said, adding, "It is too early to talk about it, though. This year, and the next one will be the years of the Witcher." 

Reading between lines of what the chief executive said, it seems that upcoming titles such as "Cyberpunk 2077" will be on the back burner for the time being, and will be shown in 2017 at the earliest.
