'Dance Moms' season 6 news: New season to premiere in January amid rumors
More rumors about the sixth season of "Dance Moms" are starting to surface before its premiere episode airs on Lifetime.
Rumors have claimed that the trophies earned by the students of Abby Lee's Dance Company in several competitions are fake.
A report from Design & Trend discussed the controversies surrounding the success of the ALDC students during the Devotion 2 Dance Sheer Talent competition held last weekend in California. According to the report, their wins were fake since the two groups that joined the said competition were both under Abby Lee Miller's dance school.
Based on reports, two entries from ALDC participated in the categories, including the elite junior team composed of Mackenzie Ziegler, Kendall Vertes, Kalani Hilliker, Brynn Rumfallo, JoJo Siwa, and Nia Frazer, who performed "Better Off Now" in the teen division. The other group of students from the same dance company performed "Cavemen Undercover."
According to spoilers, the elite junior team earned the top prize for the division, while the new team placed second.
Same thing also happened in the solo category of the said competition where Alysa Owen and Arena Lopez both joined and received the top awards as Lopez landed in the top place while Owen earned the second spot.
Rumors about joining questionable competitions are not new for the show. Based on previous reports, the ALDC team were given a chance to perform their routine twice in some of the competitions that they joined back in 2014. There are also rumors claiming that the team allegedly joined some "rigged" contests where other dance companies also joined even if they already knew that the students from ALDC will end up as the winners.
"Dance Moms" season 6 will premiere on Lifetime on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016.
