'Dance Moms' season 6 rumors, latest news: Abby Lee Miller praises Maddie Ziegler, other student wants out

Dance Moms' Facebook page

Abby Lee Miller is not afraid to express her love and support for Maddie Ziegler, who is often referred to as her favorite student in Lifetime's long-running reality show "Dance Moms."

The dance directress of the Abby Lee Dance Company posted a photo of the 12-year-old dancer on her Instagram account, saying that the "angel face" dancer inspired children worldwide to persevere and do whatever they love to do.

Miller also recently asked her social media followers to vote for Ziegler for the Choice Dancer category for this year's Teen Choice Awards.

But while the popular dance school directress had been vocal about her support for Ziegler, her feistiness could cause her to lose some of her other students and even the chance to air a sixth season of "Dance Moms" next year.

In "Dance Moms" season 5, Miller was obviously missing from one episode. Speculations claim that she decided not to appear in the episode due to her latest debacle with Kira Gerard, the mother of 14-year-old Kalani Hilliker.

The fight stemmed after Miller pulled out Kalani from the group dance category because she allegedly wanted to lower the overall average of the team so they can continue competing in the teen division of the dance contest. It was reported that Miller's decision came after Kalani's mother called on her original coach, Alexa Moffett, to help her on her solo performance. But after Miller removed her from the group, she went on to win in the solo category. The 14-year-old also announced her decision to depart from the show during that episode.

"She doesn't want me there, so what's the point of being here?" Kalani said. "I have a dance teacher that wants me at dance class every day and that's what I deserve."

Kalani is not the only ALDC student who expressed her decision to leave "Dance Moms" before season 6 begins. Earlier, Nia Frazier Sioux's camp expressed their desire to leave the show.

But there is no assurance that Miller will return for "Dance Moms" season 6 herself, after the seasoned choreographer had a falling out with the show's producers because they allegedly failed to pay her according to their agreement.

However, Miller also said that she is willing to star in her own reality series and leave "Dance Moms" if Lifetime will not give in to her demand.
