'Dance Moms' season 6 spoilers: Maddie Ziegler makes triumphant return

Abby Lee Dance Crew graced the Dream NDC event in San Diego, California for the eighth episode of "Dance Moms" season 6. There, the group dominated the stage as they took home awards for their group dances and solo performances.

For starters, the dance crew placed first both in the group division and overall, thanks to their flawless rendering of "Seven Deadly Sins." JoJo Siwa's "Mercy" performance earned her the third spot in the junior division while Nia Frazer placed fourth for her "Money Makes the World Go Round" solo.

In this "Dance Moms" season 6 episode, Mackenzie Ziegler was able to bag the first place award in the junior division for her performance of "Can't Take My Fire." She also ranked second overall. As for her elder sister, Maddie, the "Chandelier" dancer has officially returned.

Maddie, who missed majority of the first episodes for this season, is now back on board after filming "The Book of Henry," which also stars Naomi Watts. Ziegler helped the group win the top spot but she did not perform a solo routine for this event.

Fans believe that Maddie did not have time to get an individual performance ready as she flew in right after the shooting wrapped. Nonetheless, fans of the young dancer are happy that they will see more of Maddie in "Dance Moms" season 6.

Apart from her acting stint in the Colin Trevorrow film, where she gets to show her graceful moves, acting skills and overall star quality, Maddie has been a very busy girl. Just recently, she performed with the talented dancers from the precision company The Rockettes.

"I knew it was going to be a challenge, but I didn't realize how precise it is," the 13-year-old said in a video for Teen Vogue. Maddie showed her prowess by learning the complex, clear-cut choreography within just an hour.

"Dance Moms" season 6 premieres Jan. 5 on Lifetime.
