After her stint at Disney Channel's "Austin & Ally" and appearing in two of Sia's popular music videos, Maddie Ziegler's top spot at the Abby Lee Dance Company may be in jeopardy.

In the promo trailer for episode 10 of "Dance Moms" season 5, dance coach Abby Lee Miller says that Maddie has a lot on her hands already, and her training with the dance company has been suffering because of it. Maddie's reign as Abby's favorite student in the dance troupe may therefore be threatened, especially when a new girl gets the attention of the ALDC head choreographer. 

Lifetime released the official synopsis of the episode, which reads: 

"The ALDC girls are fresh off a big win and seem to be moving forward after their rocky journey to LA. That is, until Abby's nemesis, Cathy from the Candy Apples, returns with a surprise choreographer who's sure to rattle the ALDC's confidence. Abby invites Ashlee and her daughter Brynn to come dance at the ALDC and quickly praises her as the next Maddie, which the original Moms do not appreciate." 

Does this mean that Brynn will be "The New Maddie?" 

Based on the video teaser for the episode, Abby claims that Maddie should start concentrating more and stop worrying too much about the competition.

"I need Maddie to focus. She needs to worry about the competition at hand because Brynn is going up against her," the main choreographer says in the trailer.

She also mentions that the 12-year-old dance star should start performing as if her entire "future depends on it." 

But fans of the star student of ALDC should not worry because Maddie will still manage to win an award during the Sheer Talent competition in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Held last Dec. 13, Maddie bagged the first place in the preteen division, and got the first price in the solo over-all and earned the over-all Sheer Inspiration Award for her "Vertigo" performance.
