For the seventh episode of "Dance Moms" season 7, the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) attended Sheer Talent in Fresno, California.

While the group dominated the competition, siblings Gavin and McKenzie Morales also stole the show, placing first with their respective solos, representing Dolce Dance Studio.

McKenzie danced a lyrical routine for "I Didn't Know My Own Strength," which won first place in the Teen Division. However, this performance was not filmed for "Dance Moms" season 7.

Her brother Gavin performed a heartfelt contemporary dance as a tribute to the victims of the Orlando mass shooting that took place in June. The dance was not filmed for "Dance Moms" season 7 either.

The performance was titled "Pulse," which is also the name of the nightclub where the shooting was perpetrated. Gavin won first in pre-teen division and Overall High Score for the routine.

Gavin and McKenzie's mother, Jo Anne, said on Tumblr that it was an "emotional piece," adding that "Gavin is a great story teller" and that she was confident of his portrayal.

Jo Anne was reasonably happy about the feats of her kids. However, she recalled a horrible experience with dance instructor Abby Lee Miller that took place backstage of the "Dance Moms" season 7 competition.

"When everyone told me what Abby said to [McKenzie] backstage I was so made. I told Kenzie to let Abby's words motivate her to dance her best!" she told a fan.

"Then at awards, Gavin was standing close to Abby and the announcer asked Abby to stand next to Gavin for a picture and she said no and moved all the way to the other side!" she went on to say.

Calling the dance coach "a horrible person," Jo Anne added that Gavin tried again to take a picture with the "Dance Moms" star backstage, but Miller reportedly said, "I prefer not to!"

"Dance Moms" season 7 is set to premiere next year on Lifetime.
