Week 4 of "Dancing with the Stars" was in full swing, with the contestants dancing to commemorate the most memorable year of their lives. Season 19 champion Alfonso Ribeiro filled in as the host for Monday night's telecast. Tom Bergeron couldn't be at the show because he had to stay with his ailing father.

The night was filled with many emotional moments as the stars relieved their most memorable years. By the end of the night, one contestant got the first 10 of the season, while another got eliminated from the competition.

Here are the performances and scores for week 4 of "Dancing with the Stars":

Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas
Dance: Foxtrot
Score: 21 (out of 30)
Dancing for the year 2000 when she was cast in "Spy Kids," Alexa and partner Ballas performed a nearly perfect '50s-inspired foxtrot.

"The concept was brilliant, I loved the energy. There was a little mishap right at the end where you lost your footing," said Julianne Hough.

Gary Busey and Anna Trebunskaya
Dance: Jazz
Score: 16
Busey's memorable year was 1979, when he was nominated for an Oscar for playing Buddy Holly, and the actor danced a jazz routine as the late music icon. There were a few moments where he appeared to have forgotten the choreography, but he made up for it with his energy. Bruno Tonioli advised him to keep the passion going and added that he has to be more precise next time.

Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Rumba
Score: 27
Braxton danced for the year 2012, when her husband went into a coma for 40 days. After he came out of a coma, the couple decided to have a child, and three months later Braxton was pregnant. Braxton and Chmerkovskiy's emotional rumba got rave reviews from the judges, and a choked-up Carrie Ann Inaba said, "Your story touched me deeply, and yet, your dance touched me even more…This was such an incredible performance."

Hayes Grier and Emma Slater
Dance: Contemporary
Score: 27
Last year was Grier's most memorable year, when he and his brother became instant social media stars. Dancing to Shawn Mendes' song "Stitches," Grier showed a newfound maturity on the dancefloor as he lifted his partner with ease and grace.

"What a breakthrough!" Tonioli exclaimed. "Technically, it was so demanding, but you didn't miss a beat."

Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold
Dance: Paso Doble
Score: 24
This year is memorable for Skarlatos, as months after he took down an attacker on a train, his college in Roseberg, Oregon made headlines after a shooting incident left 10 people dead in the school. His Paso Doble was dedicated to his hometown, and Tonioli said that despite Skarlatos dancing while experiencing emotional turmoil, he "did it very well."

Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Jazz
Score: 27
Dancing to the Backstreet Boys' hit, "Everybody," Carter danced for 1992, the year the famous boyband formed. Carter performed in a concert-like setting amid screaming fans and did a few of BSB's trademark moves, which got the judges applauding as well.

"You were great in the Backstreet Boys, but you are far superior now," said Inaba. "This is what I call a mega sexy, mega hit!" said Tonioli.

Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson
Dance: Waltz
Score: 25
Carlos danced in honor of 2012, the year his life changed when he turned his life around as he started leaning on his faith and, at a bible study, he met his wife Alexa.

"I can tell that you were genuinely connected [to the dance]," said Hough. "That was beautiful."

Paula Deen and Louis Van Amstel
Dance: Cha-cha
Score: 18
1989 was Deen's most memorable year, because that was when she ended a difficult marriage and started a small business which later on turned into an empire. Deen was confident throughout her Cha-cha to Aretha Franklin's "Respect," and Tonioli said that her performance proved that she can dance.

"Go for it…have more fun," he told her.

Andy Grammer and Allison Holker
Dance: Cha-cha
Score: 23
2009 was the year that Grammer found out that his mother had cancer, and days after finding out, his mom passed away. His loss inspired him to write a song, which caused his career to skyrocket. His energetic Cha-cha made Hough think that this was the most comfortable he has ever been on the dance floor since week one.

Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough
Dance: Contemporary
Score: 28
Irwin danced to honor the memory of her dad, Steve Irwin, who passed away in 2006. During rehearsals, the star was emotional as she recalled a moment with her father. Her contemporary dance with her partner moved a lot of people to tears. The normally bubbly Irwin was in tears by the end of the dance. Hough said the dance was "breathtaking," and it earned Irwin the first 10 of the season from Tonioli.

At the end of the night, Carlos and Carson were in jeopardy, as well as Busey and Trebunskaya. After a tally of the votes and total scores, Busey was eliminated from the competition.

"[The experience] means everything…45 years of showbusiness and I never expected this," said Busey. "And it was a beautiful experience because with Anna, I learned things about myself that I could emphasize on and be better with."

"Dancing with the Stars" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
