'Dancing with the Stars' season 22 cast rumors: Dominique Moceanu joining?

Casting rumors for season 22 of "Dancing with the Stars" have been scarce.Facebook/ABC

One of the celebrities asked to join "Dancing with the Stars" season 22 was Teresa Giudice. Unfortunately, the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star has decided not to be part of the show.

"Teresa was offered a six-figure sum [to compete on 'DWTS'], but she decided against is," a source told Page Six. "She feels that she needs to spend time with her family and be there for her children right now," the insider added.

Giudice was released from Federal Correctional Institute in Danbury, Connecticut last Dec. 23 after serving 11 months. She was on house arrest until last week, so it makes sense that she wants to be with her family first than compete in "Dancing with the Stars" season 22.

Joining the competition means a great deal of time-consuming rehearsing and dancing, which may have caused Giudice to pass. The mom of four, however, will still be making appearances in "The Real Housewives of New Jersey."

Giudice's spot on "Dancing with the Stars" season 22 is now up for grabs, and it appears that Olympic Gold medallist Dominique Moceanu wants it. The gymnast recently expressed her interest in competing by asking her Twitter followers if they want her on the show.

"Will this be my year? I'm ready for a new challenge," Moceanu tweeted

The gymnast also said that she is already thinking of who her professional partner should be if she makes it on the show.

The champion gymnast would be perfect for "Dancing with the Stars" season 22 and is expected to do great in the competition. Other Olympians like her have made history on the show.

In the previous seasons, gymnast Shawn Johnson, speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno, figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi and ice dancer Meryl Davis all managed to take home the Mirror Ball Trophy. Will Moceanu be next?

Other speculated stars joining "Dancing with the Stars" season 22 include "Full House" star Jodie Sweetin and "Orange is the New Black's" Taryn Manning.

"Dancing with the Stars" season 22 premieres Mar. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
