Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge not only came back to the field after five months of being on the bench, but he also made sure he left something memorable in the against West Ham United on Saturday.

According to the Express, Sturridge was finally allowed to play 67 minutes into the game. He wasted no time to score, and successfully kicked the ball past West Ham's goalie barely 12 minutes before time.

His comeback goal ensured the victory for his team at two goals against West Ham's zero.

After the match, Sturridge quickly took to social media to thank and praise God for giving him the chance. He posted a picture of himself to his Instagram account with the caption:

"Waaaayyyyy up I feel blessed!!! Thanks to everyone for the love and support. Great 3 points today!! Grateful to God for allowing me to score. Been a long 5 months!!"

Sturridge had been relegated to the benches as he recovered from the injury he sustained to his thigh in August last year. Before that injury, he had made an impressive 21 goals in the previous season.

Liverpool Reds head Brendan Rogers told The Express that his team had missed having Sturridge on the field. He also expressed confidence that Liverpool can finally recover from what he described as a "stuttering form" that plagued the team during the first half of the current season when Sturridge was still recovering from his thigh injury.

Teammate Raheem Sterling also put in an impressive performance during the game, scoring the first of the two goals that sealed the victory for Liverpool. After Liverpool wideman Lazar Markovic shot wide in the second half, Sterling and Philippe Coutinho broke through West Ham's defense to put a goal barely five minutes into the second half.

Saturday's victory added one more win to the team's streak, pinning the team's progress to seven consecutive wins.
