"Dark Matter" ended with the Galactic Authority taking over the crew and capturing everybody but Six (Roger Cross), leading many to believe he was always in alliance with them and that he never had his memory lost. However, series creator Joseph Mallozzi stated on his personal blog site this was not the case.

"The fact that he passed the lie detector test in Episode 103 makes it pretty clear that Six did not have his memory the whole time," Mallozzi explained when asked if Six was lying the whole time or if his memory had suddenly triggered back. "In fact, we can't be sure that his memories were ever recovered over the course of season one."

Not only did Mallozzi confirm that Six never had his true memories during the course of season one but also pointed out that Six was never in allegiance, at least to his knowledge, with the Galactic Authority. However, this doesn't mean that he wasn't with the Galactic Authority prior to losing his memories.

Back in August when the first season initially ended, Mallozzi also stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the theory of Six being with the Galactic Authority was very strong. Mallozzi also hinted that the clues were in episode 8, which focused on Six, and the character that flanked him by the corridor.

According to Mallozzi, this is a character the audience has seen before, which means the character has popped up in previous episodes. However, because of the way the scene was shot, it is hard to fully distinguish who the character is and where they were previously featured in the series. 

Fans speculate that this character may be the link that puts Six in league with the Galactic Authority and that may even mean he is a high ranking official.

"Dark Matter" season 2 has been renewed but there is no official release date as of the time being.
